About this plan
A desk chair built from five plywood panels: two side frames with rounded cutouts, a seat at 230 mm, a desktop, and a vertical back panel that doubles as the desktop support. Everything is held together with twelve 7×50 mm confirmat screws — six per side — driven through clearance holes in the frames into pilot bores in the panel edges.
Every dimension is generated from the same custom-size model. Change a parameter and the 3D view, the derived dimensions, and the cut list update together — the configuration link in your address bar always reproduces exactly what you see.
Questions
- Which dimensions can I customize?
- Overall width 300–900 mm, depth 350–900 mm and height 350–800 mm; plywood thickness 12–30 mm; seat height 150–400 mm; back panel position 120–400 mm from the seat front; desktop reveal 0–80 mm; end rail 30–100 mm; middle rail 40–140 mm; and cutout radius 5–40 mm. Some limits depend on each other: the seat stays low enough for the back panel to hold both of its screws, and the back panel position keeps both side-frame cutouts open, shrinking the cutout radius or rails first on shallow frames.
- How are the panels joined?
- With twelve 7×50 mm confirmat screws, six per side. Each passes through a 7 mm clearance hole in a side frame into a 5 mm pilot bore in a panel edge: two into the seat, two into the back panel and two into the desktop. No glue or other joinery is modeled.
- What plywood thickness should I use?
- The default is 18 mm, and any thickness from 12 to 30 mm can be entered. The same thickness is used for all five panels, and the seat, desktop and back-panel widths are the overall width minus two thicknesses, so measure your actual sheet and enter that value before cutting.
- Is there a CNC file?
- Yes. The export is a true-scale SVG (1 unit = 1 mm) laying out both side frames, the seat, the desktop and the back panel in one row. It has separate layers for cut outlines, clearance holes drilled through the side frames, edge pilot positions drilled into the panel edges in a separate setup, and labels to hide before cutting. Parts are not nested onto a stock sheet size.
